Family Activities
As the sun sinks down below the trees, the lapping waves become a calm sheet of watery glass, and a crackling lakeside fire beckons guests for a Half Moon Trail tradition – kettle corn! Cooked over an open fire, the warm, sweet, freshly popped corn is a highlight for many returning guests. It is just one of the unique activities that bring the guests together to share in this wonderful lakeside paradise. Whether it’s a relaxing bonfire, or a heated carpet ball tournament that you enjoy, most of the guests leave here not only feeling reconnected as a family, but also part of a special resort community. Many lifelong friendships have developed between guests that return each year during the same week, making their week at the resort extra special!

Children’s Activities
Here at Half Moon, we love to have fun, and the minnow race is no exception! Once all the contestants have chosen (what they hope) is the winning minnow, they cheer, yell, blow, dance, and coax their finned friend past the finish line to victory. This Northwoods style of entertainment is one of the exciting activities that will, no doubt, create some lasting memories for your family. A typical day usually includes at least one children’s activity in the morning, and sometimes a second one in the afternoon, followed by a family event in the evening. Parents can tag along if they’d like, but are also welcome to leave the kiddos and relax with a book by the pool, giving Mom and Dad a few minutes peace and quiet.

Craft
Another bluebird day is on the docket here at Half Moon Trail! The owners and staff have been busy setting up the dewy lawn with work stations, stands, and displays in an orderly fashion. Supply tables are set with an array of colorful leather straps, bright brass, and sticks of all shapes and sizes that are ready to be chosen by a bright-eyed youngster. Full of anticipation, the eager-eyed half-pints listen to a bit of instruction, then the sawing, hammering, and sanding commence. Within short order, there are young and old alike beaming with pride, ready to take home what many deem as wall worthy memorabilia, reminding them of the memories shared with family and friends in this special place. Although our craft activity varies from year to year, each offer a unique experience, both in the process and end result!
