Park
Rapids is a major resort and tourist center,
with over 100 resorts providing access to one of
the most beautiful lake areas of Minnesota. Many
fine golf courses, restaurants, and shopping
opportunities are available to compliment your
vacation. Recently renovated, the Park Rapids
downtown area is an exciting shopping and dining
destination. Other venues provide a more natural
connection. Itasca State Park for instance; we
are located 11 miles from this popular park
containing the state's largest pine trees, the
source of the Mississippi River, and an awesome
bike trail. Another great bike trail, the
Heartland Trail, runs from Park Rapids to Cass
Lake, about 50 miles long. This old railroad
grade is great for kids, plus it runs through a
couple small, interesting towns; consider some
lunch or ice cream along the way. Dorset happens
to be one of those towns and its claim to fame?
The restaurant capital of the world.
